Star Jones Still On The View Website
LOL! With all the controversy and sniping going back and forth between Star Jones and Baba Wawa this week - if you haven’t heard it, here’s a brief summary:
- Star: I quit!
- Baba: You’re fired!
- Star: (sounds of comfort eating)
Okay, now that we’re all caught up, if you go to the official Star Jones View page, girlfriend is STILL all over it. And they still have the picture of Scary Fat Star Jones up on top rather than Scary Skinny Star Jones, plus, they’re still marking her as single:
“Ms. Jones is single and resides in New York City and East Hampton.”
Does her fake husband know that she’s single? I kind of think he might.

Hello,
Judy, I agree! Star is such a sophisticated, classy addition to the View. She might have been handed a raw deal, but it is merely a stepping stone, moving her to a higher level. Star will not be the loser. The View will lose. Rosie O’Donnell does not fit the profile. No more View for me!

I feel that Star Jones Reynolds is getting a raw deal. The view and others are jealous because of the weight loss. Hey Rosie why don’t you loose some weight and stop firing darts at Star because she had the guts and the will power to loose the weight. I have a lot of respect for Barbara Walters, but with this move Ms. Walters I question my respect for you now.

I’m glad to see Star is leaving. The woman is all about herself, I am so sick of hearing about her life. And lets not lie, she only lost the weight because of the G-bypass. She had no will power to stop eating so much. Before her G-bypass we had dinner at the same resturant and boy does that women eat alot.

Jul 5, 2006 at 14:12
Sarah,
Your post really saddens me. If you don’t like her personality that’s one thing. But the comment about her eating in unnecessary and quite rude!
Weight loss of that magnitude has nothing to do with will power. She never denied having gastric bypass, just said it was none of anyone’s business. I happen to agree with her. It was her perogitive to share not our right to know how she lost the weight.

I don’t know the all the sordid details but it seems like Star spoke her mind and she had to deal with the repercussions of doing so. As far as HOW she lost her weight–does it really matter? gastic bypass surgery only performs the operation; she was responsible for getting in shape.

It seems clear, from the news coverage, that
Ms. Jones was fired!
Star was fired for the wrong reasons.
It is The View’s producers who are not being honest.
The View producers’, which include Barbara Walters, released a public statement that claimed Ms. Jones was not honest about her weight loss.
To the contary, Ms. Jones, has been very honest about the significant amount of weight that she has lost.
Ms. Jones has, in her published book, and also, verbally, stted that, surgical intervention (e.g. a gastric bypass), was necessary to correct [serious] health problems that she was experiencing.
Ms. Jones has the right not to be overly peraonal, and detailed, with her former co-hosts, and with the public, about her personal and health decisions.
Ms. Jones was fired because her weight loss and new look, on The View, made her look like a radiant and beautiful goddess on the show.
The fact that Ms. Jones so beautifully “stood out”
on The View’s set … probably did not make the show’s producers … and her former co-hosts - comfortable.
I am sure that The View’s producers will never admit that envy played a major role in Ms. Jones’ being fired!
I wish Ms. Jones … a very successful future!

I agree with you sophia095 100%. It is mere jealously, that’s why Star is getting fired off the view. It is a shame that she is being done that way after 10 years. She added a different flavor to the cast on the view. The view won’t be the same without Star Jones, I can almost guarantee that. For all of you haters, get over it because Star Jones looks good! Just remember what goes around comes back around.

Star’s contract was not going to be renewed. This was decided back in December of 2005. No one is jealous of Star. She did not have her contract renewed because she was using the show to do free advertising for companies or businesses who would give her free things for her wedding. She used the show just as the people who gave her things used her. I really liked Star when the show began, but as time went on, her head got just to big. The show made Star who she is today, without that she would still be in Brooklyn and a nobody.

Star Jones you were fired! Get over it and move on. Thank you ABC! She is a name dropper, Me-Me person, and artificial.Star speaks with a forked tongue. Time to get those cheap shoe commercials up and running, get out that law degree and dig up Cochrane. Star you shot yourself in the foot. Now stop the whinning. Nobody cares!
Carole
Jul 6, 2006 at 22:11
I don’t agree with that, yes there are people who are jealous of Star! Rosie Odonell to be exact. The comments people are making about her weight loss and all. So YES MAM! they are jealous. That played a part on her contract also, I really believe that. All of them have used the show one way or the other to get things they want, what star doesn”t?

Amy, Amy,
Why are you so angry? Your “dig up Cochrane” statement is really sad. You should be ASHAMED of yourself. I am ashamed for you. Your complete and utter disrespect of the dead is terrible. I will pray for you.

Although I am not a fan of Star Jones or the View I think that Star did the right thing in telling the truth about why she was leaving. In contrast, the producers of the view wanted her to lie about her departure. Hiring Rosie O’Donnell is another faulty move on the part of the View producers. Ms. O’Donnell, who once claimed to be madly in love with Tom Cruise and also spoke out against guns, yet was a spoke person for K-Mart and now a self-outed Lesbian, has no credibility. Except for Joy Behar, the View, in my opinion is full of deceitful egotistical personalities.
Regina Jones
Jul 10, 2006 at 12:15
I think the comment made about digging up Johnny Cochrane was in very, very poor taste. I mean when did making comments about “Star” Jones leaving the view become so vindictive that he had to disrespect the deceased.

As for Joy Behar, I saw her on television with Rosie O’Donnell, when Rosie made a derogatory statement about Star’s weight lost. Joy Behar seemed to think that it was so funny. Everdently there was a lot of undermining behind Star’s back. That says a lot about your loyalty Joy Behar, I sense some jealousy on your part also.
Regina Jones
Jul 11, 2006 at 11:38
Other than Star’s weight I do not understand what Rosie’s beef is with Star. It seems like Rosie is jealous of the fact that Star decided to take it upon herself solve her weight problem. Does it really matter how Star solved that problem? If she did have gastric bypass surgery so what, she lost it. Rosie is just jealous! because she is still so morbidly obese. As for Joy Behar, her laughing and finding sniping at someone else humorous, well that is just immaturity.
Carole
Jul 12, 2006 at 20:54
Regina I agree with you 100%. That was immaturity on all of the producers on the view, including Ms. Walters. If the view had nothing to hide, why did they want Star Jones to lie about the reason she was leaving. MMMM, gives you something to think about.
Amy Parks
Jul 12, 2006 at 21:58
I think the group at the View were trying to give Star Jones a way to gracefully exit as if she had another position-not fired. She would be leaving because of her decision-not because her contract had not been renewed. Remember she did the red carpet on E! and it was a flop. She would have the repuation in TV land as bad news losing another job. Saw Jones on a cable channel “Sell This House” on Monday night introducing the show about selling condos in New York. Kinda sad. It is a shame she did not leave the View with her dignity intact.
Regina Jones
Jul 13, 2006 at 06:28
Amy Star leave with Dignity! You know that is just Barbara Walters and the other producers at “The View” wanted Star to do. This way THEY, would not look bad. Walters and the other producers did not want TV America to know just mean, back-stabbing and deceptive they were. They wanted Star to make them look good, by saying she had a new job and she wanted to take her career to new and exciting directions. I am GLAD Star told it like it WAS! Star owed them no loyalty. Now Mrs. Walters and her henchmen look like the real back-stabbers that they are.

Since when does ‘grace’ equate to dishonesty? how graceful would she have appeared when a few weeks down the line it was leaked that she was actually fired. The ‘disgrace’ belongs to ABC for the way they have handled this situation.

The thing to have done was for the network to have given Star notice in November her contract was not being renewed and given out a press a release her contract was not renewed. In other words-she was fired. The news would have been “Star Jones out of the View.” Now she has a reputation with producers as “bad news” because of her conduct. As for me I am still watching the View and enjoying the show every day. I am sure Star is in the Hamptons doing just fine. And she is not thinking of us the “Little People.”

AMY, The View are the ones who wanted Star to LIE!, about the reason she was leaving. Who’s dignity is at stake here? When is lying showing dignity get for real here. Star did what she should have done, She told the TRUTH! Oh yea, I turned to the View just to see how ridiculous they looked and my suspicion was correct. The View will never be the same again. The ratings have already gone down, when ROSIE O comes on for the fall season it will diminish the Views credibility along with the dignity AMY that you mention that Star has lost. Let’s get real It’s over for the View!

Amy! I too am glad Star did what she did. Star is not bad news for doing what she did, Star is “refreshing” news. Why should she safe the producers reputation. They, the producers, wanted to save their faces. As I state earlier they did not want the viewers to know their REAL personalities and they wanted Star to help them in their facade, I am GLAD Star did NOT!

Cindy Adams Column-New York Post
(snip)
I REALIZE it’s a slow summer, but we must stop already writing about where Al Reynolds’ missus might next show up. At the instant of her departure there was no offer on the table, hence the orchestration of that publicity coup d’etat. Subsequently, CBS’ morning show got named. They’re sending word - no, nisht, nyet, non, forget it. NBC’s “Today” show got mentioned. The answer for that is in two words. Im possible. Never happen. Meredith Vieira is a 100 percent no fan of Mrs. Al. Fox TV practically took out an ad on yesterday’s Page Six to cry NEVERRRR! ABC? I don’t think so. E-TV? She’s already been there, and we don’t think so. Court TV? Already been there, and nobody thinks so. (snip)

I SO love Cindy Adams.
And, Amy, ITA with every single thing you said. Zilla is a freebie mad publicity whore. And now she’s got to live with the fallout. No one wants her, no one wants to hear about her. Just trot off into the sunset with BGAl Zilla. “Wonder how long it’ll be before she fesses up to marrying a gay man.

It is reported that Star’s hubbie is “bi-sexual. Guess that sounds better than “homosexual.” I read in a real estate report that Star put her New York condo on the market to sell about two months ago. Rather sad that Star’s career has turned out this way. Guess it is back to the Payless Shoes commercials. This mess reminds me of Amarossa (?) on The Apprentice.
Carole
Jul 17, 2006 at 15:46
Amy, you can’t compare Star’s career to Amarossa please give me a break! Star is very educated so you are correct there are other options for her. Cindy not trying to be rude, but this is what the column is for, to write about different issues that has come up in the news etc. So as long as we have a comment we should be able to comment get my drift? Whether her husband is bi, homo, or whatever is her business THANK YOU! You better keep up with yours if you even have one. REMEMBER you have a lot of down low brothers Amy!

This is a lose for the show. She was the spunky one!! I mean, Barbara Walters trying to be funny??
Star has shown people that a complete change of life is possible. I applaude her for transforming her body so dramatically, thatis what real people go trough.
Her husband is another story, she needs a real man, not a cover model.

I am recovering from minor surgery so I have had hours of watching TV and surfing around reading newspapers plus magazines. I have not seen or read one article about Star Jones being praised or a comment how awful she has been treated. She has not been a guest on any popular programs. Only Larry King to “whine” and HTGV “Sell This House.” No interviews to give her opinion on legal matters since she is a lawyer. As for her husband-I could care less about what he does or does not do. That is her problem-not mine! Let me know when you see Star on a new program….
Carole
Jul 18, 2006 at 22:24
Amy give it time, trust me Star will be back in full force. Whether or not she is whining or whatever time will tell. So now you stated that you don’t care what her husband is, but that is not what you said in previous articles. That is neither here nor there but I will inform you when I see her on a new program believe that.

Jul 19, 2006 at 08:43
Amy Carole is correct, you did bring up the issue of the sexuality of Star’s husband. Yet in another statement you claimed “As for her husband I could care less about what he does or does not do”.
Anyway what does ANY of that have to do with the way Star departed the show and how she is now being treated by the execs!!!!!
Amy Parks
Jul 19, 2006 at 21:46
On the 15th I wrote It is reported hubbie is a bi-sexual.Guess that sounds better than homosexual.
On the 17th I wrote As for her husband I could less what he does or does not do.
I did not call her husband anything. Just kinda like Starr had a “medical intervention” instead of a plain gastric bypass. Frankly I liked her better when she was pleasantly plump. (Now I did not call her fat!) LOL………….
Carole
Jul 20, 2006 at 07:19
Amy you gave us that assumption that you were calling him a homosexual, and if you were own up to it. Don’t say something and try to justify it later. If that is what you meant,so beit you have your own opinion, and trust me I can guarantee you that Star can care less what you think about her or her husband. Oh yea you said you liked her better plump, well get over that too, She is now pleasingly small.

Star and her hubbie are not relatives, friends of mine or even interesting people. They placed themsleves in the public eye therefore opened themselves up to public opinion. I thought Oprah might have Star rush right over to her show to explain how awful she had been treated—never happened. Star news is not even making it on the nightly “gossip shows.” Watched The View everyday this week and throughly enjoyed the show. Soon it will be Star Who??? How soon we forget……..

I could care less about Star Jones weight loss. I think she is talentless, boastful and has gotten far more consideration and print than she ever deserved. How she got a job with The View to begin with is beyond me. Now maybe I can start watching it again with her big mouth gone! Signed, will not miss her at all!
PS-I love Rosie!

Star Jones is an ugly person inside and out. I am truly astonished to see that she has ANY fans. She is tacky, greedy, grasping, and arrogant, not to mention talentless and rude. Using “The View” to get all that free stuff for her wedding made her look even more greedy and spoiled than she already did, which is hard to do. She acts like she’s entitled to anything and everything she wants (and for FREE, no less) simply because she was one of a bunch of gossipy old hags on a lame daytime TV show. She’s not a big celebrity like Angelina Jolie, for crap’s sake! I just despise arrogant biatches like her who think they are entitled to free stuff because they are on TV. Um…NO. With all that money they make, you’d think they could afford to buy it themselves. Star seems like the type of person who would be extremely rude and hateful to us “peasants”, ie: non-celebrities. You don’t see her going out of her way to help anyone less fortunate than herself, she was fat because she was a greedy pig, there are people STARVING on this planet, but big fatty Star thought it was necessary to eat enough food for 30 people and then got her stomach stapled when she got tired of being a big fat cow because she was too lazy and undisciplined to eat right and work out. She obviously has NEVER used her “celebrity” to help the less fortunate like Oprah, Angelina Jolie, and others, she’s just a greedy, selfish pig who was out to get whatever she could, no matter what. But she mistakenly seems to have thought that she was such a big star that they wouldn’t DARE can her biatch ass. Well, I guess she was WRONG, and good riddance to her classlessness. “The View” was horrible BECAUSE of her, and I think I might just start watching it to show my support of them canning her and her overinflated ego. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, piglet, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing you on “Where Are They Now” in 5 years, fat as ever, without your lovely (gay) husband, he will have left you for another man once the gravy train stopped. I don’t know HOW the poor guy stands her even WITH all that money, I bet she just LOVES to make him feel like crap, and I bet she never hesitates to remind him who brings in the bacon and who wears the pants in that sham marriage. Poor guy, I cannot imagine how repulsive it would be to lift up those sagging rolls of skin and pretend to want to do her…*SHUDDER*. He’s gonna need tons of counseling once he dumps her to forget having to bone Godzilla itself. But as I’m now off-topic, I think I will just wrap this up. BUH-BYEEE Star, please DON’T find another show, nobody really wants to have to look at your repulsive countenance, you are truly ugly, inside AND out.

That last post was the most disgusting piece of litterature I have ever read about someone. You talk as if you know Starr and have some personal vendetta against her. How can someone be so worked up over people they really don’t know, and so judgemental. We don’t know why she did what she did, my guess is that she did what was best for her and her career, like any self-respecting person would do. You can’t be mad at someone for changing their career or doing things that are best for them, it’s what we all do everyday in the privacy of our own worlds. We can be so condescending to others so quickly and really only make ourselves look bitter, tired and boring. As for Rosie, I loved her own talk show but it’s to be seen how she can deal with being a co-host, a whole different animal. I bet is 6 months and she will have had enough, and will gracefully bow out after one season. The talk about Gale King — Love Oprah, but her friend is well . . . boring. I have to turn the channel before she can finish a sentence. I’m really not interested in anything she has to say. Yeah, she’s Oprah’s best friend and that’s her claim to fame, but get your own life and stop shadowing Oprah so much. Someone above mentioned Amarrosa (sp?) now wouldn’t that be a hoot! Love that idea! Can you imagine Amarrosa, Rosie and that Italian Comedian, always forget her name, don’t get to watch all the time, busy with my own life! Gotta go have fun . . . now where’s my Playboy outfit? Hmmm . . . . now you all can be jealous of me instead! Ha!

Part of an item on Page Six from New York Post. (snip) TV’s Star Jones has been telling friends on the East End that her marriage is about to fade out, The Post’s Braden Keil reports.
“Reality has finally caught up with them,” said a friend who requested anonymity.
Her confession to her pals is something new. Jones, who was recently terminated from “The View,” had previously been denying rumors that her 21-month marriage to Al Reynolds was on shaky ground.
“She’s heartbroken over the turn of events,” said another pal.
“She really wanted it to work, and she thought it just might work, but in the end, it just wasn’t going to happen.”
Star earned the nickname “Bridezilla” by shamelessly plugging the freebies that stores and companies provided for her wedding.(snip)

Who cares about Angelina de f.. jolie !!! good for her she was born cute but she is isn’t all that with her huge f lips and her skinny no ass . Anyway i think Star is hated because she was big and then lost the weight and people want to make the ugly fat people pay for their own insecurities . Star was ok to me , never bothered me at all . I thought she was someone you could trust actualy but i don’t know her so who knows . I really can’t stand the goodies two shoes blondie . This i can’t believe she made it in the show but i guess she can do her job , she just so annoying . Barbara Walters was not nice at all and she is big back stabber . if i was Star i would be really mad. Everyone in the happyloodland gets free stuff . They all get bitchy when they can’t get it . You bitter bitch would do the same if you were out there .Anyway this show has no loyalty to it . Roseanne is funny but is going to get so loud and obnoxious and joy better get new jokes .

Star Jones was great on the view. I really don’t care what she did or did not do. Everyone in T.V land accepts free-bees,and Star should not be treated unjustly for it. the girl had the wedding of her dreams and I admired her for doing so. I am not sure, but I think I heard that JOy Behar did not follow the dress code while attending Star’s wedding. If this is true, I think she did it purposely. I think what the view has done is underhanded and downright nasty, they will feel the pinch later on. What goes around comes around. The view will land flat on its face and Star will be having the last laugh. Star I wish you well and hope to see you on the idiot box again. In my opinion..Star seemed to have been the only educated one on the view, even though Babs is supposed to be intelligent, she does not act like it most of the times. Maybe it is the age thing. Is she pushing 80 or 90? Can’t tell these days with all the facelifts she has had.

Here’s the deal: Barbara hired Rosie to get rid of Star. Mission accomplished. Rosie is just controversial enough to keep up the ratings until they find someone more versatile like Meredith. Hard to come by. Rosie knows that she probably won’t stay with The View much longer, which is why she only signed a 1 year contract. Star is a very self-absorbed person and I’m glad she’s gone. The View will survive without her.

I feel that the View is now the Rosie O show; she talks all the time and she really takes over the show when Mrs. Barbara is not there. I think they’re all scared of Rosie O. Joy just leans back and smiles. I love Joy’s jokes. I use to watch the View every day, but now I tune in to just some of the topics I want to hear about.

I am so glad that little sweet Elizabeth, finally got great big Rosey so mad that she could hardly finish the show, she seemed to be gritting her teeth, with a half of a smile. Rosey, couldn’t run home fast enough with her tail between her legs. and scream, I QUIT!!! Now, let’s hope she will stop getting the attention that she so undeservingly gets. You go Elizabeth… you were awesome.
Barbara, you looked so lame, I felt sorry for you, you were no match for the horrible outspoken, Rosey. You had too much class and that was tarnished by your reluction to stand up for your believes.
