Brad Pitt: Zahara has “black-person hair”

by Wendy on September 22nd, 2006

Mmmm….

Oh, sorry! Got distracted. Anyway, here’s the goss from MediaTakeOut:

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie adopted Ethiopian-born Zahara, most African Americans were very supportive of the couple. But now a statement by Brad Pitt has members of the community questioning their initial response. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that in the October issue of Esquire Magazine, Brad Pitt makes racially insensitive comments about his adopted daughter Zahara.

In what was supposed to be an endorsement of Carol’s Daughter’s popular hair care line, Brad Pitt was quoted as saying that he has "trouble" with baby Zahara’s "black-person hair."

Huh. Somehow I have trouble believing that this story is actually, you know, TRUE. I’ll report more as it develops.

    @truth is law
    Bitch I’m black and I DON’T love them at all !!!
    Not all people are vapid to “love” someone for a stupid reason like this.
    It’s obvious that one of the reasons you don’t like them is b/c they adopted outside their race.
    “You blacks and other ethnics…” STUPID RACIST CUNT

    I have straight-as-a-board hair. My daughter’s hair is super curly and I have no idea what to do with it. I bring it up with my hairdresser often asking for advice for how to deal with her hair. So, I believe he probably said it, but only as a parent who is at a loss for how to properly style their child’s hair. People are so eager to jump up and scream “Racist!!”. I’m sure that it was a totally innocent comment.
