• Katie went on a Paris shopping spree in October, where she reportedly settled on a Georgio Armani wedding dress, said to be a diaphanous and delicate white lace strapless dress. Supposedly, Tom Cruise himself helped design it!
• Armani is also said to be the designer of the entire wedding party’s ensemble, including Tom’s wedding tux, and the bridesmaids’ and groomsmen’s apparel. In addition to her wedding dress, Katie’s ensemble is rumored to include some very fancy La Perla lingerie; altogether her wedding night lingerie is said to cost more than $3000.
• Katie and Tom’s wedding will be in a romantic castle. Fifteenth-century Odescalchi Castle has seen a flurry of activity in recent days, including deliveries of flowers and other wedding accessories, as well as workers setting up lights and readying the grounds. It seems as though Odescalchi, located in the small town of Bracciano near Rome, will be the site of both the ceremony and reception.
• Along with Will, Jada, David, Victoria, and Brooke, Katie and Tom’s guest list includes a-list stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Jim Carrey as well as fellow scientologists John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, and Kelly Preston. Other wedding guests: Katie’s family, including parents Martin and Kathy Holmes, Tom’s mom, his children Connor and Isabella and of course, the couple’s 6-month-old baby Suri, Jennie McCarthy, tenor Andrea Bocelli, and hundreds more. Who won’t be there: Oprah Winfrey. In an interview with Extrathe talk show host said, "It’s not that I’m not going. It’s that they had a limited number of people that they could invite," which is a nice way to spin the fact that she was excluded from the biggest celebrity wedding of the year.
• Tom Cruise is famously controlling, and he’s certainly been in charge of this wedding. Not only did he help choose Katie’s wedding dress, but he’s been on top of every detail from the menu to the gift bags. He’s even said to have demanded that Katie go on a rigorous diet and fitness regimen to quickly lose her baby weight before the wedding. And of course, he’s insisting that she change her name to Kate Cruise.
