What in the world is wrong with these people! I was raised Agnostic/Christian and I know in my heart of hearts that God would not hate anyone. If you have ever seen the show “Touched by an Angel” they always say those words, “God Loves You.” So why would those people think that God would hate gays? My best friend is a lebian. I have a guy friend who is gay. Naturally, I am a strong supporter of gay marriages. If there is a God i know that he would support nothing but true pure love. So why would this gay love and gay marriage be such a sin. I can see how perverted love like child molesters and rapists can be considered impure love but that is because they are hurting innocent people by raping them and giving their “love” in a damaging and perverted way. People mistaken gay love as being so impure as being cateogorized as perverted as rapists are. Who does being gay hurt? NO ONE! God loves everone. Even sinners. I’m sure he would be sad for there wronge doings but not hate them!

God also said, “Judge not lest yea be judged.” Apparently, they skipped that part of the Bible. God never intended for the Bible to be used to justify hate. When their church was bombed and they were the victims of vandalism, wasn’t that also God’s wrathful judgement??? When bad things happen to others according to them, it is because they sinned against God. So, why when they were victimized doesn’t the same standard hold true??? Time to take a goo hard look in the mirror.

i have seen todays show and couldn’t beleive what the phelps family was saying, god wants all people to be saved or he wouldn’t have died on the cross for our sins and we are all sinners yup everyone of us and we all fall short of being what god wants us to be like. so jesus died on the cross to save us all and yes the ladies were right in what they said but they are wrong for not teaching you his love and how to be saved and how god forgives us of our sins and all sins are forgivable.
so the phelp women did a sin by not teaching about gods forgivness. and we must beleive that, that is what god is trying to convey to us all love one another and god is our only judge and jury we are just to love each other no matter whom or what we have become.

The comment Peggy had that everything you need to know is in the bible is some what accurate, whowever people with and of varying capacities interpret what is “in” the words not the meaning of the words. I can’t not believe of what I’ve seen in this video! I don’t know what part of the bible they read but it’s not part of it! Jesus died on the cross to forgive us for our sins!! intro: i’m andrew from jkt, indo. i am in melb, aus now. i accepted Christ last year at about this time. i was just web-browsing, and i believe God has brought me to this website. and i truly have a stand on this.
i have a number of gay friends myself, and i have never hated them.
i agree with what the people at the top are all saying about how the way they preach is wrong. God doesn’t hate gays. God hates the sins they are committing, but not the people who are committing. if God hate these people, i don’t think they will be on this earth anymore! God would have destroyed them! (remember how the people in the world broke God’s heart at noah’s time? if God hates gay, i think God would have created much worse than a giant flood for gays…)
remember that Jesus, our God, has unfailing love, as it is written in Isaiah 63:7 and Lamentation 3:22. and God says to pray to those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44). so, even though america has burned their church and all, they shouldn’t spread the word that God will send them to hell for burning the church down! if i were them, i would have sat down together to pray for these people, that God will pour down His mercy for them, to make them a new person (Ezekiel 36:25-26 -> this is the guideline for what God will do these people).
spread the Word like Jesus – to the sinners, not against the sinners. Jesus touched the sinners to heal them. if these people hate gays, they will not even dare to touch them – they wouldn’t be able to heal them!
i think they have to break down this brick wall standing between them and gays in the first place before they can preach about love. if not, the “love” (found in the Gospel) they preach will just bounce against the wall unto them again.

I feel soo sorry for these people. It’s like they dont get it!! Okay okay okay, I just saw this today & it really made me feel sad & sick..Sad as to how they make Christians like myself look, & sick because every single word that was said about “God Hates Fags” is soooo not true..I was born & raised as a Seventh-Day Adventist girly, & I have my beliefs..BUT I DO NOT believe that God hates fags, seriously I think, actually, I know they missed the part as to where God says “He doesn’t like the sin, BUT he loves the sinner”.. Accept people for who they are, it ain’t on you to judge whether or not they get to heaven..How people get to heaven is between them & God..It ain’t what you think or what anyone else thinks, because the fact is..You can go to church everyday of your life, but if your relationship with God is bitter..Then how the heck can you get to heaven sweetie..Seriously going to church don’t make you any more of a Christian than living in a green-house makes you a tomatoe!! It’s really sad to hear them say that people in the 9/11 died because they did not repent..So reading your bible (if you have one) what do you have to say about the wars in the bible??..Where the people of God were conqured by many nations & in turn they also conquered many nations??..How do you know that God cause the planes to crash into the twin towers?? If God is as petty and vindictive as these people clearly believe, and if it is true that Satan is God’s antithesis, then it follows that Satan is actually a pretty decent bloke and we should all look forward eagerly to sipping tea with him in the depths of hell.
The truth about this is GOD doesn’t hate homosexuals. GOD loves and expects us to love also, but it doesn’t erase the fact that to HIM, homosexuality is wrong. Just because HE doesn’t agree with what you do, doesn’t mean that HE doesn’t love you. It’s like with a parent and their child. If the child is smoking and drinking, the parent may not like it, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t love their child. The Phelps are mistakenly wrong about one thing, if a person’s child is killed, it doesn’t mean that the parent hasn’t done all that they can as a parent. I’ve seen it plenty of times where people were killed and were only innocent bystanders. It had nothing to do with their belief system or what their parents had taught them.
As for homosexuality from GOD’S point of view, it is wrong. If HE wanted a man to be with a man or a woman to be with a woman, HE would have made them compatible for reproducing. People want to talk about GOD only looks for pure love, but they don’t understand that to GOD the only pure love is between a man and a woman. Now what you believe is up to you, but don’t try to debate what GOD believes because it is already written in stone. People are born with a free will so don’t sit here and tell me that you can’t help what you do. If that were the case, you would be justifying the murderers, the child molesters, and all the other dispicable people with twisted desires. It would be like saying, “Micheal Jackson can’t help that he loves little Timmy!” Yes he can! If you feel that a murderer can keep from killing people then why can’t a man keep from sleeping with another man. Some may say,”because it’s love,” but as we can tell from watching this clip, hate can be just as strong as love, if you allow it. So if the child molester loves little Timmy then what makes a homosexual so different? How dare you compare being homosexual to race? You can’t control the fact that you’re black, or latino, or white or whatever. There is no race therapy that’s going to change that. A black person can bleach their skin, but when they get through, they are still black. A homosexual can choose not to be homosexual, just as well as a gangster can stop gang banging, or a 3 year old can stop wetting the bed. This thing that we were created with is so incredible, it’s called free will. You can best believe that any woman or man that you have been with in any way, you chose to do that. Thousands of years ago, when the Old Testament was written, it was also considered a sin for a woman to speak in church–supposedly God “didn’t like” that either. Additionally, slavery was condoned and encouraged–God “liked” having masters in charge of slaves. And homosexuality was discouraged as a sin–the main reason being that the union did not create children.
With the advent of the New Testament, Jesus introduced the New Law which did away with many of the judgmental, harmful, hateful, and backward laws. Jesus’s main message? Love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus is a cool and righteous dude and I love Him–I’m a lesbian and I know he loves me back.
I don’t need to “change” who I love. My honest and pure love for another human being has no connection (as you present it) to murder, gang banging, or molesting children. In reality, 99% of those crimes are committed by heterosexual men. More often than not, these are men who have a twisted concept of what “love” is.
I’m thankful that I do know what love is. Jesus, not judgemental humans, taught me that.
Then what makes your “love” so pure and not twisted? I’m not telling you to change who you love. What you choose to do is up to you. I never said that JESUS hates you. I know that HE loves you too! Yes it is all twisted!! I know that but just because humans accept a thing, it doesn’t make it right in GOD’S sight. As far as slavery being condoned, that was something that humans made up. When it was talking about slavery, that meant an agreement between two people or a group of people where someone owed another something, so they worked it off. It is never GOD’S plan for anyone to be enslaved if that were the case, HE wouldn’t have sent HIS SON to set us free. I’m not judging anyone. Everytime someone says that something is wrong, it doesn’t mean that they are judging someone. If that were the case then nothing would be considered immoral or illegal because everything would be judgemental. It was not a sin for a woman to speak in church. Maybe you should read the whole context of the scripture. More than likely, it was talking about women that were getting up in church and teaching unGODLY things to people, and it was stated to sit those women down. It is not “my opinion,” it is scripture, and if you or anyone else doesn’t believe that, then my words don’t matter, and obviously neither does GOD’S. People don’t decide what’s right and wrong in the eyesight of GOD. Just because society accepts something doesn’t mean that GOD does. It has nothing to do with the fact that HE does love you.
I come from a very strict religion. Aaaand… God loves everyone, gay or not. Being gay, whether something ‘wrong’ with you from birth, or a choice, or a feeling, what ever different categories it has, is in no way a reason to be sent to hell. I can see people preaching that gays will go to hell, if they are creepy rapists or child molesters or what ever… but not all gays are creepy like that. These people on Tyra’s show, (and others around the world) do seem so angry and I think it’s because they are …ignorant of the whole thing, and afraid. I remember a few years back… I really wasn’t acquainted with anyone who was gay or lesbian or anything. I didn’t really have an opinion of them… until I got reunited with one of my childhood friends and learned that he was bisexual. At first I was really shocked and was kinda of like ‘man do I even wanna be friends with you?’ (in my head, I never said this to him). But then I just stopped and was appalled at myself for thinking that. God loves all his little children. And the more I talked to him the more I accepted him for him, and I couldn’t be happier. He is one of the coolest people I know. So anyway I think I was so upset at first because… it was something I wasn’t familiar with. I was scared. And I think that is what these people are dealing with. They have been taught that homosexuality is bad (to an extreme), and they are afraid of it, and so get really worked up about it and stubborn about it, and I think it has just really gone out of control.

although homosexuality is a sin we are not to judge and this reminds me of an incident in the bible somewhere in John when a woman who had been caught committing adultery was brought to Jesus and was about to be stoned and Jesus said to them “let he without sin throw the first stone” and the same goes to the Phelps, if they are lives are puuuuuurfect, sinless and something like the life that Jesus led then they have evry right to “throw the first stone”. and the Lord Christians serve is a God of love and compassion. he doesnt hate anyone but loves everyone and wishes them to come to Him,stay away from sin and love Him

Did anyone else notice that the youngest sister, the 19 year old seemed like she wanted to cry, and she didn’t have such rebellious rebuttals as her older sister and mother did? I think that the 19 year old doesn’t believe what she preaches.
