Okay, so can we have this lady on the news instead of Katie Couric? I have a wee bit of a girl crush on her now.

Now, THAT’s hot, bbs!

This reporter is an American Hero! Thank God we have one reporter out there with her priorities right. I will watch anything she’s on now. You go on with your bad self. 8-)

Thank goodness for Mika! 24 hours of coverage on Paris getting out of jail is ridiculous!! Someone needed to say something. There are a lot more important things going on in the world than Paris serving a couple weeks in jail.

God bless MIKA… she has now become the one newscaster I will seek out for my news!
Mika is a brilliant and ballsy woman… finally someone who recognizes that Paris Hilton is not news (entertainment news perhaps, but not real news)… and doesn’t give in to higher ups who felt that she should lead with Paris, instead choosing the moral high ground to lead with real news… if only more reporters were like MIKA!

The bullying co-hosts took the cake … according to them, Ms Brzezinski is a lesser journo then them if she refused to lead with the Hilton story. I imagine that, around their water-cooler, as in various newsrooms around the globe, newsreaders were complaining off-air about the importance placed on this “news” story. Then, Ms Brzezinski stole their thunder on-air, so they tried to match her by giving a sarcastic commentary on Hilton’s “new faith”.

I agree, it’s about time someone spoke up about the stupidity of Paris Hilton making news anywhere other than the social pages. But I think Jennifer has made the most valid point about the consequences of dumbing down the American news by her spelling.

Brilliant. Mika better not ‘dissapear’ or I’ll have to watch someone else.

Go Mika!!!! Someone Finally has some journalistic integrity! Good for her - she deserves an award..and not the least for remaining calm and dignified while being harassed by those two frat-boy morons that were presenting with her. Maybe this will have an effect on the celebrity worshiping psychosis that seems to be the sign of our times. (E.g. see Newsweek’s recent celebrity-worshiping story on Angelina Jolie “saving the world” ???? Not on “doing her bit” as MANY people do & that being good in itself - no, she, it seems, is alone amongst 6 billion individuals - in ‘Saving the world’). It would all be funny if it wasn’t so utterly appalling.

Mika is the only real reporter left in our country. Finally someone willing to stand up for what the rest of us believe…Paris is not news! Our country is at war, an election is coming up, there are thousands of real stories that should be reported on. American’s should be treated with respect and not insulted with celebrity gossip being portrayed as news.

Mika is definitely a journalistic hero just for not covering something so freaking mundane and annoying on a day when Life changing matters are going through. I just wish everyone else had her balls. Bravo

btw, if anyone has any contact info for her or her producers/etc, I would love to know.

Mika one of the best for getting it correct about Paris Hilton just another spoilt brat getting there way. Glad someone has the guts to stand up and be counted. Well Done Mika.

Mika is not so “Meeka” after all.

Congratulations on expressing that which no other journalist has dared to utter for the sake of network ratings and retaining favor with the bosses. Here in Southern California we overwhelmingly naseuated by the daily dalliances of Paris (I personally keep a barf bag at the ready during the nightly news just in case).

Why the hell would anyone stay up to watch her get out of jail live? Is her dad is too busy negoitiating the sale of their Hotel holdings to give her a good swift kick in the butt when she needs it most?

Let’s get the media attention on Mika, after all as a woman of real substance she might have something intellegent to say!!!

Who is next on your hit list Mika? Maybe a your opener every morning should be “The story I refuse to do!”
