Eddie Murphy’s paternity still a question?

I don’t understand this. Doesn’t the DNA test pretty much end all this quibbling?

A DNA test has shown that Eddie Murphy is the father of Melanie Brown’s 4-month-old baby “but paternity has not been legally acknowledged,” a lawyer for Brown said Wednesday.

Murphy has shown “shocking and appalling” conduct since the test, said the statement by lawyer Gloria Allred.

So from what I gather here, he’s biologically the father, but he still has not acknowledged that he is? I’m confused.
