Anything that includes the words “Ralph Fiennes” and “erotic awakening’ is getting a green light from me.
Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes will star in “The Reader” for the Weinstein Co.
Pic is a love story based on the bestselling novel by German writer Bernhard Schlink.

Do you know this story? Nicole Kidman’s “potential” character is a pedophile and Nazi war criminal. The “erotic awakening” is Kidman’s character having sex with a 15 year old. Ralph Fiennes plays the adult version of the kid and is the narrator of the story. Kidman’s character comes back into his life while he’s in law school and she (Hanna) is on trial for her war crimes. I found nothing endearing about her character. She has a severe lack of morals and allowed people to be killed because she was too ashamed to admit that she couldn’t read. I’m shocked that she would even want to play this woman. I’ll be fascinated to hear why she’s doing it. And I can’t imagine too many people will respond well to the relationship. If people didn’t like Birth, they won’t like this.

It seem i’m one of those rare people that likes to actually see a movie before I make a judgement. I hope there some other fair people around!

This does not sound like material for Academy Award consideration. I will be fair and hold judgement until I see the film. I’m getting the book
as it will be interesting to see how close the story is followed.
