Thomas Beattie, The Pregnant Man
This is a video interview with a transgendered Oregon man named Thomas Beattie who is pregnant (it’s complicated, but basically, he was born a woman, but identifies as a man, but he is now pregnant, since his partner cannot carry a baby). Here’s the video interview with Oprah:
I’m intrigued by this whole story; obviously he wouldn’t be getting as much press if he didn’t openly identify as a man. I just hope that the kiddo escapes all of the scrutiny that he and his partner are facing and will face.

No no no, there is no man in this couple. One of them is just done up like a man. This woman has been declared a man by law, even though she has female reproductive organs. This same sex couple bought some sperm and one of the women in this freak show impregnated herself with the sperm. It’s exactly the same as any woman being impregnated artificially, except this poor child will be as confused as Jessica Simposon at a spelling bee

I believe this “man” shows great courage, man or woman, he wants to be who he is, and I believe thats what matters. people can’t change how they are without people looking down upon them, jeez Terry give him a break, and that Jessica Simpson Pun was lame, give people a chance!

well i personally believe this is completely ridiculous. If it wanted to have a child in the firsdt place why didnt it just stay i girl.
like wtf its pretty lame. and hes bringing a child into this world that is most likely going to have problems because everyone will know what has gone on. and its family life most likely wont be.. normal….

you all keep saying the child will have problems because of society…. but you are the members of society who exhibiting such hatred and closed-mindedness. if you all were more open-minded, the child would NOT have problems and people could lives their lives how they want to. also, gender is not biological. i know you’re all invested in that so much, but if thomas identifies as a man and lives as one, then he is one. let it go.

i think people are trying God which is not right, people should accept thier biological makeup without trying to play another rolen thereby telling God that he did not create them properly. We should appreciate which gender we belong to and be who we are.

Alright, look here, I believe people telling anyone they are playing god are themselves trying to play god. A person undergoing surgery to change their gender on the outside, just means they want to be normal and want to be who they are. This fact cannot be changed. A person cannot go through life being who they are, so all of you “god” lovers stop being so ignorant and look at the facts of humanity, it is your ignorance that will harm the child, not it’s parents being who they are. This child will probably grow up to not care so much what others think, and believe in it’s self… rather then believing what other people say are “god’s” words… people get over yourself seriously

people are made by God, and he specifically chose their gender for them! God made every single person exactly the way he or she is supposed to be, and there are no mistakes. men do not get “accidentally trapped” inside of a woman’s body. thomas beatie was made a woman by God, and should identify himself (or herself?) that way! he doesn’t have male parts, and therefore should not be considered a man. his having a wife, is, in a way like gay marriage, which should not have happened anyway!
where do you get off calling Godly people “pricks” and “narrow-minded” anyways? just because we dont believe in the same liberal bull that you do, is no need to point fingers. im so glad prop 8 passed! that poor child…
