Rob Lowe has grown up a lot since his days of underage sex romps and putting hamsters up his butt….wait, that was Richard Gere. Anyway, the nanny for Rob’s two young sons left all of a sudden – broadcasting her departure by text message, of all things – and is now suing the actor and his wife fo 1.5 million dollars.
It doesn’t sound like this young lady has a leg to stand on; she was there with the Lowe family for over seven years, in fact, she turned down other jobs to stay with them. And her text messages (you can read them here) don’t sound like she’s mad. She probably just got greedy. I really think that Rob Lowe is handling the situation with a lot of grace; here’s his response:
Everyone knows we live in a time where public figures are targets. But I also know of many people in everyday life who are paying the price of a climate where anyone can accuse anybody of anything, anytime, and hope for a big cash pay-off at the end. “Hush money” to just go away. Well I won’t go away. No one intimidates my family. My wife and I have many former and long term employees, all of whom know this woman, who can and will refute any claims of anything inappropriate in our home, or anywhere else. We will defend ourselves with vigor and without fear.
I tend to believe him on this one. What about you?
