Meg Ryan talks about relationships and how HARD they are, boo hoo

Giffoni Film Festival Day 7

Meg Ryan, best known for her formulaic lovey dovey movies such as When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, etc., is now talking about the reasons why Hollywood relationships don’t work. You know, other than one person (or both) cheating on the other. Here’s what she had to say:

She said: ‘It’s very difficult to be a career person and have a relationship. I didn’t succeed at doing it at all. It’s incredibly hard.’
She added: ‘I think you have to figure out some way of keeping all of those capabilities and requirement in your life in balance.’

If you remember, she cheated on cokehead husband Dennis Quaid with Russell Crowe, who apparently was quite the man:

‘Russell was incredibly gracious to me during a really hard time and in the aftermath.
‘I empowered myself by not staying in the thing with Russell. I felt it was going to be repeating some similar patterns that I’d just gotten out of and it was a drag because I was crazy about him.’

Oh, boy. I hate that word “empowered”! She sounds so Dr. Phil in this interview.
