Robert Downey Jr. on The Dark Knight

Robert Downey Jr. star of Iron Man, had this to say about The Dark Knight:
“My whole thing is that I saw ‘The Dark Knight’. I feel like I’m dumb because I feel like I don’t get how many things that are so smart. It’s like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I’m like, ‘That’s not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.’ I loved ‘The Prestige’ but didn’t understand ‘The Dark Knight’. Didn’t get it, still can’t tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I’m like, ‘I get it. This is so high brow and so [expletive] smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.’ You know what? [Expletive] DC comics. That’s all I have to say and that’s where I’m really coming from.”

Hmmm. Jealous much?

I feel the same way. So many people loved it. I wanted to. I was so excited to see it. It really did not live up for me. I thought the action was amazing but the story was all over the place and continued on way past its proper ending. The dialogue failed as well. Its hard to follow a movie strictly through action alone, which is why I guess perhaps they tried to compensate with trite fucking scooby do style dialouge. But even so there wasn’t enough of that. JD jr. totally gets me.
I lost some respect for RDJ after seeing that a few weeks ago. Guess drugs will fuck up your brain, huh? And I guess he was sick of his son throwing it in his face by getting all decked out in TDK t-shirts and belt buckles, etc every time they were out together. Loved the pics of that….
TDK is the #1 movie of all time. Case rested.
