Heart to John McCain: No, you can’t use my song!
Did you watch the Republican convention last night? Do you remember this part?
Yep, that was Heart’s classic “Barracuda” playing. My 14 year old was the first one to pick it out (thank you Guitar Hero!) and we both had a long discussion on how there was NO WAY that the GOP got permission to play that song. Turns out we were right! Here’s Heart’s official response:
the Wilsons condemned the usage, adding that Universal Music Publishing and Sony BMG have sent a cease-and-desist notice to the McCain-Palin campaign, according to CNN. “We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music,” the group said in a statement.
