CONTEST: Win “The Godfather, The Coppola Restoration Collection” on DVD!
September 26, 2008 by Wendy Boswell
See this?

That, my friends, is the brand spankin’, just released, DVD set of The Godfather, The Coppola Restoration Collection. And you can win it! First, let’s hear exactly what you’re going to get:
More than three decades after they won the Academy Award for Best Picture, director Francis Ford Coppola’s classic films The Godfather and The Godfather, Part II will once again be enjoyed by audiences as they originally were meant to be seen, thanks to a meticulous restoration by Paramount Pictures, overseen by Coppola himself. On September 23, 2008, both fully restored films will debut on DVD and Blu-ray, along with a newly remastered version of The Godfather Part III, to be included as part of The Godfather, The Coppola Restoration Collection. All three films will be available individually or in a five-DVD collection or four-disc Blu-ray collection, which are loaded with a host of all-new special features.
The new special features created by Kim Aubry, founder of Zoetrope Aubry Productions, explores the complexities of the restoration process and provides new insights and perspectives about how the film almost didn’t come to pass as we know it. The Masterpiece That Almost Wasn’t relates the unlikely events, intrigue, allegiances and luck that put together the unknown director with the unwanted cast and contains interviews with most of the living players and many of the films’ admirers. Other featurettes include “when the shooting stopped”, and Godfather World, which take a look at The Godfather’s influence on popular culture today. Each film includes a commentary by Coppola.
Pretty cool, no? Here’s what you need to do in order to win:
Leave a comment with your favorite Godfather movie moment OR quote.
Rules:
- One entry per person.
- Please leave your email in the space provided.
- Contest starts….now, and ends next Friday, October 3, at 12 midnight.
That’s it! Have fun, and good luck!

“I know it was you Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!”
“Who’s being naive now, Kate?
Calo said “In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns. “
Can you believe I haven’t seen this yet? I would love to see it!
Good. Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me. But, until that day, accept this justice as a gift on my daughter’s wedding day.
Godfather I is my favorite, by far. As for a saying, thats harder, the horses head was unforgettable, make him an offer he cant refuse.
When I first saw these movies, the scene with the horse’s head in the bed was exceedingly shocking (and my favorite), although nowadays in the age of gore this may not have the same effect!
“It’s not personal Sonny. It’s strictly business.” It was Michael’s entry into the family business. Chilling.
Sonny: Goddamn FBI don’t respect nothin’.
How true
Sorry, I can’t pick JUST one! There is the one where the Godfather says we’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse, then we see the horses head. There is the one where Michael tells the henchman that Fredo stays alive until their mom is alive. There is the scene where Sonny is murdered. I love the one where the Godfather says, ‘Lucca Brazzi sleeps with the fishes…”
Leave the gun…take the cannoli!!!
the horse head in the bed
“Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes”.
For some reason this quote always stuck with me: “In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns.” Seems even more apt now with the rise of Sarah Palin
My favorite, Godfather II
It was you Fredo. I know it was you. You broke my heart. You broke my heart.
Great trilogy
Leave the guns - take the canolies. Great line. Thanks.
“I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.”

“Leave the gun, take the cannoli.”
My husband said he loves the first and that it is definately the best, and “I made him and offer he can’t refuse”
I have never seen the Godfather movies. On “That 70’s Show”, Kelso once did a quote from “The Godfather” about a dead horse.
“Don’t ask me about my business.”
“Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.”
the equine’s head in the bed
I liked the horse head in the bed scene.
I loved the first one.
My favorite quote “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse”
I think the line “Leave the gun - take the cannolies.” was great!
The Kiss Of Death Scene
“A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.”
My favorite or most memorable scene was the horse’s head in the bed from the first Godfather movie. Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!
Nothing like waking up to a horse head in your bed!
I like the quote “Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.”
