New Moon opens to lackluster reviews, HUGE numbers at the box office
November 20, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
Sooo….who went and saw New Moon last night? I’m waiting until it shows up on DVD, yes, I’m cheap. New Moon opened up to extremely lackluster reviews; here are just a few:
Early reviews at Rotten Tomatoes gave it a sad little 4.9 out of 10. Ouch.
Roger Ebert says “Since they know it all and we know all, sitting through this experience is like driving a pickup in low gear though a sullen sea of Brylcreem.” Double ouch.
USA Today writes “”New Moon, the film version, does nothing to add depth to a shallow tale.” Triple ouch.
I must confess that I’ve only read the first book; it’s the ONLY book I’ve ever read that had a really good story and godawful writing. I literally cringed at many of the passages in Twilight, they were that bad. Made my teeth hurt. Anywho, here are some fun clips from the new movie; I did enjoy Twilight (the movie) so I’m sure New Moon will be just as fun.
First, a clip with Dakota Fanning:
Bella slaps Paul and Jake saves her (does this girl EVER do anything without needing to be rescued?!?!):
Volturi decides to get all up in Bella’s face, but Edward saves her (yet again):
Bella cuts her finger in the middle of a room full of vampires….and guess what? Not good.
