Angie Harmon defends Miss California
May 1, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
At the opening of the Malibu Lumber Yard yesterday (wait. why is Angie Harmon at the opening of a LUMBER YARD? Has she really become that irrelevant?), Angie defended Miss California’s controversial remarks about gay marriage:
“If someone is standing up for how they feel and talking about their beliefs, why are we punishing her for that?” Harmon, 36, told Usmagazine.com Tuesday at the opening of the Malibu Lumber Yard in Calif. “I just don’t understand how we’ve gotten to a place in America where, if someone doesn’t agree with everyone, then they are punished for it.”
Said Harmon, “I heard something in the car on the way over here, and it was like, ‘She wasn’t punished,’ but she lost because of it. So she was punished.”
“I find it incredibly disappointing,” she went on. “I mean, that is what she thinks. That’s what she believes. I’m not going to punish anyone for that. I don’t know if she lost because of it, but if she did, I think that is very disappointing. In the Miss USA, she can’t stand up for what she thinks or what she believes in? I don’t understand that.”
Do YOU think she was punished? I’m all for respecting other people’s beliefs and opinions…except when they are stupid and narrow minded. I think she has the right to her opinion and was honest with her views, but we the public and in this case judges also have right to criticize her for her answer. What do you think?
Julia Roberts honors Tom Hanks with some NSFW words
April 29, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
At the 36th annual Film Society of Lincoln Center Gala Tribute on Monday night in New York, where Oscar winner Tom Hanks was presented the new Chaplin Award, Julia Roberts made her feelings for Hanks known with some pretty descriptive language. Let’s just say that she said some VERY naughty words - which made me lurve her even more, if that were even possible. Here’s the video (remember, contains some naughty words!):
Here’s one of the quotes that she said:
“That movie about you and the airport and the accent was a pass for me. Airport? Were you just an immigrant lost? I didn’t know. I love you, but I didn’t know … and I’m wearing the same [expletive] dress tonight as your publicist.”
Tina Fey on the Jimmy Fallon show - watch
March 5, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
Pretty much anything that Tina Fey has ever done is made of teh awesome. She can make me laugh just sitting there calling for takeout. My girl Tina (we’re like this, me and Tina) showed up on the Jimmy Fallon show last night, unfortunately, since I fall asleep on the couch by, oh, 9 PM pretty much every night due to the fact that my children suck out my will to live, I have to put up with just finding this on the Interwebs. Here’s Tina talking about “30 Rock”, her child, and boogers (um, the boogers part sounds worse than it was, I promise):
Speaking of Tina, who, by the way, won’t answer my calls (not sure why), she was just named “Entertainer of the Year” by the AP, mostly because of her awesome impersonation of Sarah Palin. We’ve all see these impressions a bajillion times, but shoot, it’s Thursday - what else do you have to do right now? Work? Come on.

Pics and videos from the NAACP Image Awards
February 13, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
I caught some of the NAACP Image Awards last night on TV, and it was pretty fun. I especially liked Stevie Wonder’s performance at the end - that was awesome! Here are some highlights:
- Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson both picked up awards
- will.I.am’s performance
- Host Halle Berry
- Boxing legend Muhammed Ali was honored
And lots more. Here are some photos:

Rosario Dawson, looking charming in a vintage cocktail dress, matching shoes, and a beaded black and white bracelet.

Holly Robinson Peete wearing a cute cocktail dress. Did you know that she has four children, including twins?

Seal, who is seriously one of the sexiest men on the planet. He's married to Heidi Klum and together they have three children.
Of course, I can’t let you go without some of the fantastic performances that we got treated to last night. First, here’s Beyonce singing a song called “Halo”, which she performed for the first time. This song is off of her new album “I Am Sasha Fierce”.
Here’s Jennifer Hudson singing “Impossible Dream” as part of the honoring Muhammed Ali section of the program:
And my favorite of the night, Stevie Wonder with hosts Halle Berry and writer Tyler Perry. I’m not sure what the song is that he’s singing, but I love the part at the end.
Images from the 51st Annual Grammy Awards red carpet!

I didn’t watch the Grammy Awards last night mostly because they are too long and I get distracted easily. Plus, I was watching X-Files and getting the living daylights scared out of me. Anyway, here are some pics!

Brad and Angelina at the SAG awards - watch!
January 26, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
I never get tired of watching these two together! And speaking of, when are we going to get another movie with them?
Anyway, here’s what Angelina had to say about going to these shows with Brad:
“We’ve been doing it together for four years - it’s aways nice. I don’t think I’d want to be doing it alone. It’s nice to be doing it with your best friend … and have a laugh in the middle of the show.”
But Jolie wouldn’t answer a question about how Pitt has changed her. “It seems like a really odd moment for all of that. I’m sorry.”
