The Passion of the Mel Gibson: His mistress is pregnant!
May 20, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
Mel Gibson is a busy man, yalls. Not only is he breaking up with his wife of 28 years and making one gorefest movie after the other, now he’s gotten his Russian mistress pregnant!
Oh, yeah. It’s true, gang. Well, at least according to The Enquirer, which, I know is not always the most reliable source, but hey! Let’s run with it. Rumor has it that Mel sat his kids down to tell them that they were going to have a new baby brother or sister, and apparently they weren’t jumping for joy - surprise, surprise. The kids are going to take steps to protect their part of the Mel Gibson money pie before the Russian mistress gets her hands on it. What a mess, right?

What did you think of this episode? I haven’t thought much of Zac Efron, but I thought he was surprisingly good on SNL; maybe he should do more comedy.
Etta James backpedals on Beyonce slam
February 6, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
After saying yesterday that she was going to “whoop Beyonce’s ass” for singing “At Last” for the presidential inauguration, Etta James is backpedaling fast and furiously. Here’s what she had to say today:
“I was feeling left out of something that was basically mine, that I had done every time you look around.
“I didn’t really mean anything. Even as a little child, I’ve always had that comedian kind of attitude. That’s probably what went into it. Nobody was getting mad at me in Seattle. They were all laughing, and it was funny.”

A joke is a joke, I guess……still seemed a bit like sour grapes to me!
Etta James picks a fight with Beyonce
February 5, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
Well, now, this is interesting. Classic songstress Etta James has a bee in her bonnet about Beyonce being asked to sing her signature song “At Last” at the presidential inauguration. Here’s what she had to say:
“I tell you that woman he had singing for him, singing my song, she gonna get her ass whupped,” sarcastically calling her “The great Beyoncé.”
And she went on.
“I can’t stand Beyoncé… [she] had no business … singing my song that I been singing forever.”
She even slammed the President himself. “You know your President, right? You know the one with the big ears? He ain’t my President.”

Wow, jealous much? She wasn’t even able to go to the inauguration ANYWAY because she was sick, what is she griping about? Dang. This just makes her look bad, don’t you think?
Anyway. Here’s the clip of Beyonce at the inauguration:
Obama loves “Single Ladies”
January 29, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
I love this story. While greeting people at John Legend’s Concert at the Mall during the inauguration ceremonies, President Obama was teased by wife Michelle Obama about his love of Beyonce’s hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”. He jokingly responded with a little of the video’s choreography! Watch:
And here’s the original Beyonce video, I love this song:

Jennifer Hudson will be singing the National Anthem at the 2009 Super Bowl
January 15, 2009 by Wendy Boswell
Jennifer Hudson is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl on February 1, 2009.
This will be her first public appearance since the murders of her mother, nephew, and brother in October. I think a lot of Jennifer for continuing on after these tragedies; it would be easy to just curl up in a ball and never come out again, but she’s doing what she’s been called to do.
This isn’t the first time she’s sung the anthem at a major gathering; she also sang for the opening of the Democratic National Convention. Listen:
